Has Making a Phone Call Changed Your Life??

Here is a story for you all that i found to have a powerful message to anyone that has lost someone close to them :')

I remember when i was young, i was fascinated with phones, i was always dialling randoms numbers, and ringing people. One day, I found  an amazing person, her name was "Information Please" There was nothing that she did not know. She was my saviour.

My first personal experience with this genie-in the-bottle came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbour  Amusing myself in the tool shed, I whacked my finger with a hammer. The pain was terrible but there wasn't any point  in crying because there was no one home to give me sympathy.  I walked around the house sucking my throbbing finger, when i arrived in the kitchen. The telephone! Quickly, i grabbed a chair so i could reach the phone. Climbing up, I unhooked the hand piece and held it to my ear. "Information, Please," I said into Phone.
A click or two and a small clear voice spoke into my ear, "Information."
"I hurt my finger," I cried into the phone. The tears came readily enough now that I had an someone to give me sympathy.
"Isn't your mother home?" came the question.
"Nobody's home but me." I said
"Are you bleeding?" Information asked.
"No," I replied. "I hit my finger with the hammer and it hurts."
"Can you open your freezer?" she asked.
I said I could. "Then grab a little piece of ice and hold it to your
finger," said the voice.

After that, I called "Information, Please" for everything. I asked her for help with my geography and she told me where Philadelphia was.
She helped me with my math.
She told me my pet chipmunk, that I had caught in the park just the day before, would eat fruit and nuts.

Then, there was the time Petey, our pet canary died. I called  "Information, Please" and told her the sad story. She listened, then said the usual things grown-ups say to soothe a child, but I was inconsolable.  I asked her, "Why is it that birds should sing so beautifully and bring  joy to all families, only to end up as a heap of feathers on the bottom of a cage?"
She must have sensed my deep concern, for she said quietly, "Paul, always remember that there are other worlds to sing in." And somehow I felt better.

Another day I was on the telephone. "Information, Please."
"Information," said the now familiar voice.
"How do you spell fix?" I asked.

All this took place in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. When I was nine years old, we moved across the country to Boston. I missed my friend very much.

As I grew into my teens, the memories of those childhood conversations never really left me. Often, in moments of doubt and uncertainty I would recall the serene sense of security I had then. I appreciated now how patient, understanding, and kind she was to have spent her time on a little boy.

A few years later, on my way west to college, my plane put down in Seattle. I had about half an hour or so between planes. I spent 15 minutes on the phone with my sister, who lived there now. Then without thinking
what I was doing, I dialed my hometown operator and said, "Information, Please." Miraculously, I heard the small, clear voice I knew so well, "Information."

I hadn't planned this but I heard myself saying, "Could you please tell me how to spell fix?"

There was a long pause. Then came the soft-spoken answer, "I guess your finger must have healed by now."

I laughed. "So it's really still you," I said. "I wonder if you have any idea how much you meant to me during that time?"
"I wonder," she said, "if you know how much your calls meant to me? I never had any children, and I used to look forward to your calls."
I told her how often I had thought of her over the years and I asked if I could call her again when I came back to visit my sister
"Please do," she said. "Just ask for Sally."

Three months later I was back in Seattle. A different voice answered, "Information."

I asked for Sally.

"Are you a friend?" she asked.

"Yes, a very old friend," I answered.

"I'm sorry to have to tell you this," she said. "Sally has been working part-time the last few years because she was sick. She died five weeks ago."

Before I could hang up she said, "Wait a minute. Did you say your name was Paul?"   "Yes," I replied.

"Well, Sally left a message for you. She wrote it down in case you called. Let me read it to you."

The note said, "Tell him I still say there are other worlds to sing in.  He'll know what I mean."

I thanked her and hung up. I knew what Sally meant.

Never underestimate the impression you may make on others.

Don’t you sometimes wonder why you don’t accomplish the things that you want to accomplish?
Sure, you get done what you have to get done.  Whether it’s a job or some other responsibility – you’re certainly doing something to keep yourself busy.

This busyness is what keeps us from accomplishing the things that are near and dear to our hearts, things we’ve thought about doing if we “didn’t have to work”.
This isn’t a Law of Attraction kind of post.  I’m not telling you to just keep thinking it and it will happen for you.  Not quite.
I’m telling you that everything, almost everything, is possible if given the proper amount of time and focus.
You have to spend focused, thought-ridden time on your thing, whatever it may be, and you’ll get there.
Bottom line.  No two ways around it.
I’m convinced that your and my success relative to just about anything we want to do – is downright a direct function of how much time we spend on it.
You have to put in the time.  Early, late, on lunch, sleep little, etc.  Even if you are busy, you still have to do something out of the ordinary to get to where you want to go.
Time goes pretty fast, doesn’t it?

Hell yes it does!
If are trying to lose weight, your focus must be on making the right choices for an extended period of time. If you are trying to build a business, your focus must be on building the business for an extended period of timeAnd if things aren’t happening?  Well, you better spend some more time on it until you start seeing some changes.

It’s only a matter of time.  Take some time, and give it a legitimate chance!

Please Dont Cry

Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating
room. She said: How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can
I see him?

The surgeon said, “I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't
make it."

Sally said, “Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any
more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?"

The surgeon asked, “Would you like some time alone with your son? One of
the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the
university."

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to her son.
She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.

“Would you like a lock of his hair? the nurse asked.
Sally nodded yes.
The nurse cut a lock of the boys hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it
to Sally.

The mother said, It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the university
for study. He said it might help somebody else. I said no at first, but
Jimmy said, Mom, I wont be using it after I die. Maybe it
will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.

She went on, My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could.
Sally walked out of Children's mercy Hospital for the last time, after
spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's
belongings on the seat beside her in the car.
The drive home was difficult.
It was even harder to enter the empty house.

She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his
hair to her sons room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things, back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to
sleep. It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed
was a folded letter.

The letter said:
Dear Mom,
I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you,
or stop loving you, just cause I'm not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will
always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each
other again.

Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you wont be so lonely,
that's okay with me. He can have my room, and old stuff to play with.

But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like t the
same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like,
ya know.

Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some,
but it will take a long time to see everything.

The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus
doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet,when I saw Him, I knew it was
Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD!

And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on Gods knee and talk to Him, like I was
somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a
letter, to tell you good-bye and everything.
But I already knew that wasn't allowed.

Well, ya know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen
to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is
going to drop this letter off to you.

God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him
* Where was He when I needed him?
God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.
Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you.
To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper.

Isn't that cool?
I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in
the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper.
I'm, sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all
gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't
stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent the Angel of Mercy
to come get me. The Angel said I was Special Delivery!
How about that?

Signed with Love from: God, Jesus & Me.

It All Begins With You

Here are a few quotes i have been collecting for my blog that have spoken to me! I hope you Enjoy!! Love and Be Inspired!!

“Who you are speaks so loudly

I can't hear what you're saying.”

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

WOW!!!!
This quote speaks volumes and I feel it deep within me....
I heard this the other day on a DVD i was watching. It really reminded me that we can teach out children so many things through our words but we need to be so much more cognitives about what we teach our children through our actions.
So many times we all have ideas about who we want to be. I can talk all about the person i would like to be. But at the end of the day i can only hope that my actions have represented that person! Especially when our children are at stake!!

"If you work just for money, you'll never make it, but if you love what you're doing and you always put the customer first, success
will be yours.
"

Ray Kroc

To be considered a success you dont have to make the most money. When it comes to being happy, Money is NOT the most importnat thing. First you should live what you are doing and take a positive look into committing yourself to the people who need you and the people you work with. This positive outlook will determine your new found success!

"It is not what we get. But who we become, what we contribute... that gives meaning to our lives."
-Anthony Robbins

True Happiness and Self Satisfaction are not measured by the material possession you have received or brought. It is rather, the way you influence others and how you develop from your accomplishments, Which makes your life significant! <3

My Personal Favourite Is:
"If you see a turtle on a fence post, it had help getting up there"
- Little Jimmy Dickens

If you think that you made to to the top all on your own. You ARE mistaken. And you are clearly forgetting all of the people in your life who have influences and inspired you!!

From the time you were born, there were people shaping your life, weather they be your parents, brothers, sisters, friends.... anyone you have come into contact in your lifetime.

If there have been some experiences in your life that have been bad, did you turn the around into something positive or did you let it set the course for the rest of your life?

I am proud to say that i constantly rely on other people to help shape my future. I am always learning from others everywhere i go. If you listen really carefully, there is a lesson to be learnt.

We all know that the turtle did not make it to the top of the fence post on its own. And we all know that Bill Gates didn't get where he is no by his own either.

When i get to my fence post, i know i have a lot of experiences to thank, both good and bad!

I hope you have all enjoyed these quotes as much as i did! <3

I hope you are all inspired.

My inspiration today comes from a little 6 yr old boy

I found this amazing story and I just wanted to share it with all you guys, I hope you find it as amazing as I do!!

Last week I took my children to a restaurant.  My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.
As we bowed our heads he said,  "God is good. God is great.  Thank you for the food,  and I would even thank you more if  Mom gets us ice cream for dessert.  And Liberty and justice for all!
 Amen!"
Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby I heard a woman remark,  "That's what's wrong with this country.  Kids today don't even know how to pray.  Asking God for ice-cream! Why, I never!"
Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me,  "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"
As I held him and assured him  that he had done a terrific job and  God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.  He winked at my son and said,
"I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."
 "Really?" my son asked.
"Cross my heart," the man replied.
Then in a theatrical whisper he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream.  A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal.  My son stared at his for a moment
and then did something I will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his sundae and without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her,
"Here, this is for you.Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes;  and my soul is good already."

This six year old is so amazing and inspires me to try my hardest to show others the good in the life!

Today My Insparation Comes From A Song By Freddi Starr - True Colours!

This is the Song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sT3hkO18vg

These are the Lyrics:

I see you're true colours shinning through I see your true colors and that why I love you
I see your (one for the ghetto) true colours shinning through (straight up) I see your true (I am make it out) colours and that's why I love you…
Yo father forgive we all trying to survive were we live I'd rather feed the homeless and take time talk to the kidsShow them that life ain't no walk on the bridge Damn as hard it is when I be dreaming I be talking to Big In my hood it ain't no yellow brick road you hear the shots echo Sneakers hanging from a telephone poll In my ghetto there ain't no rainbow or pots o gold But there was love from the family when times were cold I sit an analyse the world from my roof seen the hope in the eyes of the trouble youth A good killa kept a burner in his bubble goose a mother less child lost in these streets lose In the murder days these are rainy days my man got poped at an early age
His college fund saved flipped into his grave they say the good die young were headed for them pearly gates
I see you're true colours shinning through I see your true colors and that why I love you I see your true colours shinning through I see your true colors and that's why I love you…

Yo they say this love wasn't meant to be Two people from different worlds we wasn't be It must have been faith you were sent to me Will make it threw these hard times eventually The standard fight brought by faith not by sight We all the same color when u turn out the lights I take the sunshine with the pain Grab my Sara gone sad that when it rains No French kept the food on the window painWe all breath the same air so we all the sameI am trapped in this ghetto maze trying to make it out If you don't know me don't judge me what you talking bout I am dividable by broken dreams Single moms you my heroes you my queens To get my mom out the hood that is my hopes and dreams to reach my son to be a solja by any means

I see you're true colours shinning through I see your true colors and that why I love you
I see your true colours shinning through I see your true colors and that's why I love you…

This Song is from the movie, "Save the Last Dance". The movie is a great movie of acceptance and love! This movie on its own is an inspiration!

This particular version of the song inspires me it's honest!
The first verse tells us the story of a child in the ghetto, who knows that life is hard, but it can be good. it says that all you need is the "love from the family" and that he can see "hope in the eyes of the troubled youth" He wants to be able to help these youth, (Which is what i want to do)

The second verse tells us of societies social expectations of relationships. And how they defy what everyone else thinks and do what is right for them! and states this with the quote "we're all the same colour when you turn out the lights."
with the line "we all breathe the same air so we all the same" he wants the world to understand that we are all equal and we are all the same and we are all trying to be the best we can be.

He says that people who have things a little tough are his heros. i think this is because he thinks tehy have so much strength and him living in the ghetto most of the single mums are probably single due to their partners being shot.

This song inspires me to help people who are less fortunate than me. Like people have helped me.
Pick Your Colour!!

Sorry Guys

My search has taken longer as not much has inspired me lately. When something happens to the ones you love your to yourself you tend to find it hard in finding things that inspire you.

I've been pretty sick lately. And i just thought the doctors would be able to tell me whats wrong but no they cant, no one can.
But today after plenty of sunshine and may a few pain killers i decided i might see if somewhere out there is something that inspires me....

What do you think i found? Anything?

Surprisingly I found a story about an old lady in a nursing who was pretty much about to pass really soon, and her son thought that she still had plenty of life in her, So he changed the nursing home.

Heres the story
"I work at a nursing home, and our level of care varies from rehab after a hip replacement to someone in need of hospice care.  not everyone has the luxury of coming in here and leaving in great shape, although many people do.

we recently admitted a resident from another nursing facility.  she had been there for a few years.  her son said she mainly just lays in bed, is on a feeding tube, a lot of oxygen, and didn't do too much but moan and sometimes watch tv.  he transferred her because he felt she wasn't receiving great care, and said even though he knows she will never be the same (has had multiple strokes) he felt like she should be able to do something.

over the past month, she has slowly been getting better and talking with the staff.  she has been in physical therapy daily, and is learning to sit up straight, and hopefully will soon be eating regular food.  she now is up in her wheelchair daily, off the oxygen, and able to stand regular showers.  she is literally wheeling herself around the nursing home, even with her hand contractures.  she lights up when you talk with her, remembers names, and will tell you about her day."

Now this story maybe isn't as extreme as me, But it still gives me hope that if I find the right person/doctor I can get over this whatever it is. It shows me that someone who didn't really have much to live for at all, has found something to change and start interacting with people again.Sometimes I guess we need stories like this to remind us that no matter how bad things are now, they will get better, through your own determination or through someone who is out there looking out for you.

So I hope, that you realise that even in your darkest days there is always someone out there who is watching over you and that no matter what you think things are always going to get better!

Still Searching, And Todays Findings Are.....

This story of triumph and tragedy, reminded me that when its all said and done, who we are and what we become is really only determined by the choice we make in our life.
We choose to be better people, or we choose to be no better people. Weather we make those choices in the younger years of our lives or if we make those choices when we are 36.  The choices we make have the power to dramatically increase our value in pretty much everything we do!
That is what the saying “change… or be changed” is all about. Chris changed from being a criminal to prosecuting them.

Brothers Michael and Chris were both born in the early 1960s and grew up in a mostly black neighbourhood in Richmond, California, right outside of San Francisco.
Both boys were well behaved in school and brought home mostly A's on their report cards all through grade school.
But coming from a working-class family with eight children, money was always tight, so the boys often had to go without. In fact, things were so tight; the two growing boys were often hungry.
So they did what many boys do when they're hungry and have no food - they stole. From the time they were five until they were well out of high school, the boys stole. They stole crackers from the cupboard in the middle of the night... they stole cookies from the grocery store... and they stole sandwiches from the sandwich shop.
If it wasn't nailed down and was worth something, Michael and Chris would find a way to steal it. They even stole money from their parents from time to time. But more often than not, they stole to satisfy their hunger.
When it was time for Michael and Chris to attend high school, they were bused across town to Kennedy High School. It was during high school that something happened that made Chris decide to change his behaviour. At the end of his freshman year in high school, Chris had received three A's and three F's on his report card - the first time he had failed anything in school.
Because Kennedy High School only allowed three failures over four years, one more F and Chris would be kicked out of school. That's when he made up his mind to change. Years later Chris would recall that defining moment in his life with these words:

"I sat outside my house at the beginning of that summer knowing that I was letting my chance slip away. One more F and I'd be just another high school dropout, hanging around the neighbourhood, hoping to get on with the county or to get into the service.
"At the time I didn't know my brother Rusty would end up in prison... or that my brother Harold would die without having seen much of the world. I certainly didn't know what would happen to Michael. I only knew that I had to get out of there. I wanted to see San Francisco every day, to pick out my own clothes, drive my own car, and be whatever a man could hope to be, not just a black man, not just a man from the flats of Richmond. I wanted no limitations. I wanted to be whatever a man could hope to be."
Chris' decision to change his behaviour wasn't an easy one. He took a lot of grief from his friends for choosing to excel in school, instead of squeaking by with C's and D's. But that decision to change took him in an entirely different direction from his brother Michael, who resisted changing his unproductive behaviour.
Chris went on to graduate from high school... graduate from college... and graduate from law school. For 15 years he worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles, California, prosecuting murderers, drug dealers, gang members and crooked cops. Today Chris is better known as Christopher. You probably recognise him by his full name - Christopher Darden, one of the lead prosecutors in the trial of the century, the O. J. Simpson trial!
What became of Christopher's brother, Michael? After high school, Michael joined the army and returned to his hometown shortly after his tour of duty. Back in Richmond, Michael continued his pattern of anti-social behaviour - hustling in the streets... and stealing to support himself and a growing drug habit. On November 29, 1995, Michael Darden died at the age of 42... from AIDS.
Chris took charge of his own life, going from an under achiever to an honour student. He went from a low self-esteem teenager to a young man who turned his dreams into reality.
Christopher Darden made the tough choices... he made the changes in his life that helped him accomplish his dreams.
The truth is, "Either way, you pay!" The truth is the price that Michael paid for refusing to change was much higher than the price that Christopher paid for seeking to change.
I'd like to think that Michael didn't die in vain. I'd like to think that by hearing this story, some people would finally understand the profound importance of making positive, productive changes in their lives.

When it's all said and done, you have a choice.
You can choose to become Michael.
Or you can choose to become Christopher.
You can continue to do the things that will lead to frustration and unhappiness.
Or you can make the changes that help you get what you want most out of life.

Don't choose to become like so many people who COULD HAVE become a millionaire... or who COULD HAVE become happier... or who COULD HAVE become healthier... or who COULD HAVE made a contribution - but didn't. Start making the changes you need to make TODAY... so that you can become the person you want to become TOMORROW!

A 4-Year-Old's Letter To God

So, in my search for some more inspiration today, I came across this beautiful story about a little girls faith. This story made me think of when I was still a little girl and how I wish I had faith in God. This story also deserves a mention to the guy at the end of the story. This young girl will thank you for the rest of her life for what you did. :) I wish there were more people like you in the world! Anyways, I shall let you read the story. I hope you Enjoy and are Inspired.

Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith.
(written by the mother of Mer Claire)
....................................................
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to: God in Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office.
A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, "To Meredith" in an unfamiliar hand.
Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers, titled, "When a Pet Dies." Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:
....................................................
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I am wherever there is love.
"Love, God"
